Sri Lanka women's team skipper Chamari Athapaththu harbingers scorching weather in Karachi will test the players as they gear up to face hosts Pakistan in the T20I series, starting from May 24 at Southend Cricket Club.
The touring side captain said Karachi is hotter than Sri Lanka.
"We arrived here yesterday and it's already too hot here," she said.
"Hot weather will be a challenge for us but as professionals, we are focused and looking forward to the games," she added.
Athapathhu expressed admiration for the preparations done by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
"We are satisfied with the arrangements here for the series. PCB has done great job so far," the captain said.
Amid the chaotic situation in Sri Lanka, which is undergoing an economic and political crisis, the touring side captain said they are keeping their head in the game and focusing on the controllables.
"What is happening in Sri Lanka is not in our control. Our job is to play cricket and we are here for that," she added.
"In terms of preparations, we are completely ready for this series. We have some fresh players who are talented and looking forward to the challenge," she said.
