Rawalakot Hawks beat Jammu Janbaz in the season 2 of Kashmir Premier League opener as rain played spoil sport at the Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium.
Hawks defeated Janbaz on D/L method by 11 runs as rain started pouring down just after five overs in Hawks' innings. Hawks had scored 50 runs in their 5.1 overs in response to Janbaz's 178 for 4, before rain stopped play.
Jammu Janbaz were powered through their innings by a blistering innings from Sharjeel Khan at the top of the order, who scored 89.
Sharjeel was well supported by Sahibzada Farhan at the other end after Janbaz had lost their opening batter very early in the peace. Farhan had scored an impressive 54 but the innings was mainly driven by Sharjeel Khan, who scored a rapid 89 off just 51 balls.
On August 14, Kotli Lions and Mirpur Royals will go head-to-head in the first encounter whereas Muzaffarabad Tigers and Bagh Stallions will face each other in the second encounter.
A total of seven teams are participating in the tournament.
